Getting Into Gaming

Deciding on which games you're going to play highly depends on the console that you currently own. There are a lot you can choose from, but if you want to buy only one, then you'll have to get into serious studying because there's a lot of differences-and not only with the games they release.

Take, for example, if you're into high-definition images and painstakingly done gameplays. Whether you're into FPS, RPG, or strategy games, then it might be better to invest on something like the Xbox or its successor, Xbox 360. Both these consoles offer amazingly rendered graphics that can make you believe you're really running through a jungle or hurling through an icecap.

PS3 or Playstation 3 is slowly climbing the charts as one of the most sought-at games. Because PS3 is the first gaming console that uses Blu-Ray, there are more spaces for you to see the amazing graphics done on a particular game, letting you experience every visual effect through painstakingly configured frames.

If you're into exercising and fitness, or if you're wary of turning into a couch potato, then you might want to get a Nintendo Wii. This ingenious console by the designer of the old Family Computer does not necessarily use a joystick where you only press the buttons. Instead, it requires movement of the player's body to control the game. If you're into calculating your weight with extra movement, check out Wii Fit which not only makes you move your body but also calculates your center of gravity. Wii Fit is the best way to start exercising, maybe even let you try yoga. While the interface of the games in Wii Fit aren't as pretty as Xbox's or PS3's, it's still a unique way of getting you fit and healthy.

But if handheld devices are more of your thing, then it's definitely time to check out Nintento DS. With two screens and one of them being touch-screen, and with a built-in microphone, DS lets you interact with your game, either by drawing the answer or shouting. Most of all, you can simply pack your DS in a bag and take it out whenever you're bored.

There are hundreds of other gaming consoles out there, but these are the ones that are currently at the top of the market. Take a deep, internalizing moment, breathe, then plunge in. You won't regret it.
